The Scripture:

Mathew 8:5-10

And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him, And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented. And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him. The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

Our thoughts:

How is it that God always seems to know what we need even when we don't? When our faith is the lowest he will do something to uplift our faith? This happened to me just the other day. I had just left our Church with a few of our friends and stopped to get something to eat. There were seven of us, all standing outside of the cafe where we had just eaten. A man came up to us and started talking about God and how he had worked a miracle in his life. He told us of how just a few years ago he had been shot six times and left for dead! When he was taken to the hospital they said that he would probably die. They did surgery and removed all of the bullets that they could, leaving one in his head near his brain. They also removed a part of his spine in his middle back. They said that if he lived he would never walk again. The doctors were wrong! I saw him myself, walking and talking as good as anyone else! How you may ask do I know that what he was saying was true? With out my asking, he took his coat off and had me to feel of his spine. I was shocked at what I felt. It was almost scary! About half way down his back there was an area that sunk in about four to six inches right where his spine should have been! I have never seen anything like it in my life! The fact that he was alive, talking, and walking is a true miracle! God knew that I have been depressed and needed reassurance that he was still there. I needed to be shown once again that he has everything under his control! He gave me just what I needed!

Our prayer for you:

Dear Lord, Thank you for your encouragement! Thank you for being there when we need you and showing us just what we need to see! Lord, help us to trust fully in you. Give us the faith of the Centurion. Help us to have a closer walk with you. If there is anyone out there that doesn't know and trust you, Please help them to find their way to you! Help us with our unbelief! Help us not to doubt you but to truly surrender to you and your will for our lives. Thank you for you love. Let us show that love to others. It is in your Holy Name we pray, Amen.
