The Scripture:

Job 1:8

And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?

Our thoughts:

There are many times where we are sick or hurting and we don't understand why. We feel like maybe God is punishing us or we have done something to deserve this. Look at Job, he was an honest man. A man that feard God and avoided evil. If you read the book of Job you will find that his friends and family both tried to get him to curse God but he would not. Although he never understood why this was happening to him he never cursed God or gave up.

We should take an example from Job. No matter how sick we get, how bad we hurt, or how bad things get we should always trust that God is the answer. We should understand that God created us and he knows what is best for us. We never know what his plan is for us. As hard as it may be we should love and trust him.

Whenever you think you have it bad just remember this little saying; I cried because I had no shoes until I met a man who had no feet.

Our prayer for you:

Dear Lord, We know that life gets hard and we sometimes feel as if we have it really bad. When we are sick and hurting and we don't know where to turn. Lord, please help us to turn to you and not to blame you or turn against you. Help us to look around us and to realize there are many others who are in much worse shape than we are. Help us to concentrate on helping them instead of wallowing in our own self pity. Help us to remember Job and what he endured and to remember Jesus and what he went through on the cross for us. Help us to remember that there is a new day coming and we don't know what it will bring. Lord help us to fully trust in you and in your infinite wisdom. Amen.
